Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive strategic buy decisions and business performance of merchandise categories including Women’s RTW, Little Girls, Home and collaborations.
• Generate four times a year seasonal lineplans with new category opportunities, analysis and style and sku plans. Set all retail targets when styles are developed and passed to factory.
• Manage style and sku count during the development process and provide updates throughout season to design, production and product development.
• Create and manage classification hierarchy for each season and every category that is made at the brand.
• Responsible for achieving line opening margin target for each season.
• Manage in-season business by analyzing sales information to identify opportunities for increasing sales, improving margins and replenishment opportunities.
• Develop product assortment with Design in accordance with line plan to achieve and exceed financial goals. Manage and run weekly meeting with design reviewing the line in development.
• Work with Vice President of Direct to Consumer to select key items and develop a seasonal plan that utilizes historical performance and current business data.
• Provide analysis & feedback on sales as well as identify and execute development & growth strategies.
• Collaborate with Production on vendor resource, calendar and costing strategies to facilitate production planning.
• Manage season buy and fabric projections and present to President for final approval.
• Along with Design, attend sample and production fittings and provide recommendations to Technical Design on necessary alterations.
• Attend cross-functional meetings to review product selling, issues with deliveries, and potential liabilities. Present suggested solutions to ensure timely and consistent flow of merchandise.
• Focus on developing customer intimacy skills through regular store visits and competitive shopping; apply findings to buy strategies.
• Review historical data and marketplace trends
• Shop and conduct regular scans of benchmark competitors to identify opportunities and challenges for in-season business and future season line planning.
• Build constructive and effective relationships with peers and cross-functional partners.
